Today was a very relaxed day. I really can feel the importance of a good sleep. It makes a big difference to how well the day goes. The same goes for finding a good light but nutritious breakfast.
The road through the woods of Galicia felt so familiar as if I had been there all my life. When I saw a fresh spring water jump out of the mountainside, I felt just at home. Every Estonian knows how to appreciate crystal clear fresh water straight from the ground. Storing water can never compete with it in terms of taste and health benefits. Water needs to be in a state of flow and not sit in a thin plastic bottle for months.
The fog this morning gave some pretty breathtaking views. Whenever exiting the ancient woods you get a cloud of mist surrounding you. Most trees and valleys were covered with a coating of fog so dense you could barely see in front of your feet.
Small mountain tracks led through numerous tiny house villages with really friendly locals and lots of cow manure everywhere. There were two donation stands along the road where locals had put some drinks and fruit on the table. There was no soul around. Quite fascinating to see systems of pure kindheartedness.
I keep caring less and less about big cities and especially car traffic. Life makes so much more sense without technology overcomplicating things. Funny thing is that we believe technology makes life simpler.
I am really glad that so many familiar faces are together back again as one group that we started with almost four weeks ago. The rest of the group I might still see before leaving Spain.
Strange to think it’s only 100km left to Santiago and just 90km more until I reach the ocean in Finisterre.
