Camino Portugues day 15: Porto to Vila do Conde (26,3km)

Today everything was perfect! The weather was cloudy. I saw the ocean and it felt great.

Walking 20km today on wooden pathways felt like the beginning of something important. The road took us through some fishermen’s villages. The most important one can be seen in the picture. All the restaurants around served seafood, of course.

The weather was a perfect +22°C, which made walking so easy. Felt like my very first day walking all over again. I know it will get a lot colder this week. If I am lucky, then there will be no rain.

It seems that soon I can try my limit with really long distances. Until reaching Spain we will keep it close to 30km daily.

There are really more pilgrims around now. Some of them are cutting it short by 20km days. Others are doing the suggested cities and villages. I am looking forward to seeing what happens if I land in an odd village.

I bought a seashell today, which is an internationally known symbol for pilgrims. I will wear it on the outside of my backpack from now on. Lets see if I can manage to not lose or break it. Knowing myself, I will have to buy a replacement later in Santiago.

Internationals all around are super fun. Thought it would be distracting to have so many people around, but it came out to be quite a nice change. I will see if I get any hiking companions for the road. Surely, I will see a few people repeat again tomorrow.
