Camino Portugues day 16: Vila do Conde to Marinhas (29,2km)

My hopes for this week not to get rain went out the window in the first 30 minutes.

Luckily, most rain came in half an hour and then it was just dripping for a few hours. The ocean wind blowing in my face was nice and warm, so at least no freezing. A few cups of tea also helped.

I walked together today with a Spanish medical student named Lia. It is really nice to have a hiking buddy, since for two weeks I have been walking alone. Some days you really want to hike alone, but others you just want to chat with people.

Many nice familiar faces appeared again in the albergue: two slovak girls and one from czech. We had a nice group dinner. Hopefully, the group will remain for a day or two, but every day is a new personal challenge for everyone here.

Today I got my first mini blister. Its on the heel. It probably came from wearing my winter socks today because of the rain. I did not feel my feet being wet, but still should have changed for dry ones later. Overall, my legs feel good today, but the small mosaic tiles on the streets really start to hurt. After I reach Spain I might slow down a little. Lets see how I manage.

Looking very much forward to tomorrow and the new adventures it brings.
