Camino Portugues day 24: Santiago to Negreira (20,4km)

I was aiming to have a slow day and recover. It was as good as I could hope for. I slept until 9am and really took my time before heading off.

Had a big breakfast after only 7km of walking. Usually I don’t eat until 20 km.

After food, I was especially slow. My right leg was letting me know that it was under too much pressure, so I controlled my tempo.

The road to Finisterre I walked 2 years ago and everything was so nicely familiar. Many details I remembered vaguely, but discovering them all over again was fun. It is like an old friend you lost touch with.

Two things I love about this opening day hike is a 2km walk constantly uphill for a around 400m elevation climb. That was a great workout. The second thing is this tiny village and its bridge that are in the picture.

It’s pretty much a boring evening today, focusing on resting as much as possible. Fun fact is that I am staying at the same albergue as last time.
