Camino Portugues day 26: Santa Mariña to Hospital (17,8km)

My right leg is just getting worse. I have to take really short days and give it plenty of rest along the way. I know I can make it to Finisterre. I just didn’t know it was gonna be so troublesome.

Pretty much from the first few kilometers, the limping started. Most of the day I was walking on hard surfaces, so it didn’t get any better. Funny thing is that my body feels completely rested and would like to go further. I just can’t.

That’s okay, because there is absolutely no time rush. I had planned an extra day before flying back just in case something like this might happen.

I am really grateful for still taking this walk to Finisterre. Today was again one breathtaking view after another. Early in the morning, the course went over the highest point of this journey, so for tomorrow I will just be descending back to ocean levels.

I am suprised at how relaxed and optimistic I am about everything. Sure, I can feel the leg issue, but it doesn’t change my positive outlook at all. Being this long on the road has already changed the way I think about things. Hiking really is something for both the mind and the body.

Loving it every minute here.
