Camino Frances day 17: León to Hospital de Óbrigo (31,76km)

I left an hour before the first sunlight because the walk out of León is quite long (like 7km). The whole day was just following dirt roads besides the highway. Nothing really special to say about the villages before Hospital de Óbrigo with the huge bridge as seen in the photo.

What was special about today is that even after walking 25km at quite a good pace, I still had the strength to accelerate and finish a bit faster. Because there was no wind all day, then frying in the midday sun became quite unpleasant. My mood was good all day.

I was listening to some piano music with headphones for the first part of the day. Really helped stimulate the creative side of the brain which otherwise would be bored on a day like this.

Feet rarely feel pressure or discomfort walking on gravel roads anymore. There is fatigue in the legs when finishing and some even in the morning, but nothing major. Overall, it seems I have gotten very used to the road.

Just happy overall to have this time to explore Spain once more. Even with all the heat, it is very nice here. Other pilgrims are great too. Some might leave weird first impressions, but once you talk with them a bit, then everyone becomes very much the same.

We are all here to enjoy the journey and not the destination.
