Camino Norte day 18: Vega to Oviedo (31.2km)

The day was supposed to be much shorter, but then life happened. The albergue in Oviedo opens in the evening and looked like an insane asylum, so I booked a new place after arrival.

Got to walk all across town, which was super nice. Oviedo really is beautiful, but why are all supermarkets closed on a normal Tuesday?

I have been walking around town like an idiot looking for a cheap meal. Will give up soon and take the first restaurant that seems good.

The road to Oviedo was like a chain of villages, all linked to each other. Walking on asphalt and concrete like that was pretty tough on my feet. Especially once the sun was out.

Thankfully, I had done the first 10km of the day already around sunrise in heavy fog. The early morning walk did have a lot of natural terrain.

Oviedo itself reminds me a lot of Santiago. The old towns seem very similar to each other. Walking into Oviedo near a highway with car dealerships one after another felt more like Leon.

The walk tomorrow is supposedly very long and boring. Not many places to stop and get some food or water. That is why I was hoping to get a supermarket day today. I will figure things out, but the current situation sure is annoying.
