It was a very rainy night and morning. Everything in flatter areas was flooded once again. I walked two hours in the rain.
I tried to do some pictures and videos. That was a big mistake. Moisture got into my cameras and practically nothing works properly. Hopefully it gets better by tomorrow.
The road split after 10km of walking and I took the shorter, bicycle route. I got quite quickly to Pedrosillo de los Aires where I could swap out for dry socks. Weather got completely sunny.
The rest of the day I spent on a quiet car road. Not a drop of water was disturbing me.
My phone started short circuiting. I had to turn it off. Wrap my merino neck scarf around it. Monterrubio de la Sierra village had a lovely pilgrim bar that I visited. There was an indoor oven heater and the owner even gave me a glass with dry rice inside. As a bonus I had the tastiest egg-cheese omelet sandwich of my life.
Now that my phone got working again, the SIM card was still giving trouble. The nature around me was magnificent the 11km of road walking into Morile, but my mind was focused on worrying about the phone. A shame really.
Tomorrow will be more rain. Will need to start very early to avoid it as much as possible. I wonder how much rain there will be once I actually enter Galicia and have exited the desert areas.
Seriously thinking of some crazy long days in the not too far future. The rain from today made my old blisters come back, but overall doing very good. Just need to focus on recovery stretches and exercises every day after hiking.
