It was a long day of hiking. The sudden cold snap made snow appear again. Last time I had left off next to a highway. Today, I had to walk that car road for 3km. I had assumed that highway walking was the hardest part of the day, but the trail switched to a former railroad track covered ankle deep in wet and heavy snow.
The going got better after my first tea break. I took two thermoses full of hot tea this time because of the cold weather. Farmhouses started appearing more frequently and the road got faster to walk on. I got so focused on the old railroad trail that I missed when the Camino turned straight towards the church. I walked a bonus two kilometers of Märjamaa town thanks to that.
This is my first Camino ever where I have accommodation booked in the middle of my hiking day plan. I checked in early. Had a quick powernap and lunch, then continued on the trail. I walked the main street all the way out of town before connecting to the Camino.
Camino kept following the same former railroad out of Märjamaa. Its extremely nice nature and very quiet, but also can get hard on the mind. The road is about 15km in a straight line without any turns, just like Camino Fances after Carrion de los Condes.
I did about half of that long straight line, paused at a local hiking shelter for a cup of tea and waited until the bus arrived to the nearby station. Waiting for over an hour started to feel very cold. I am certain that I want a shorter day tomorrow.
