There was still snow in Tallinn when I left this morning. Luckily it starts to warm up now. Several farmers have already ploughed through their fields to make the ground softer.
In Kivi-Vigala village I was able to visit the congregation house and get my stamp there. It not so easy to reach the place on a Sunday.
From Kivi-Vigala there are two GPS trail options: the official route which is marked by yellow arrows and the 1km shorter version that does not go near the busy highway.
I started off following the official route and did a short forest trail from there. The routes connected and split again before Langerma village in Pärnu county.
The official route and yellow arrows would point you towards Libatse village store with plenty of option on where to sit and relax, but its right next to a busy highway that you need to cross twice.
The shorter variant will stay away from the highway, but has no great places to enjoy along the way. I chose this quieter option and while it was not bad, if I had to choose again, I would have preferred the official route.
The shorter route towards Roodi village was not that bad and even had some forest walking. After Roodi village the trail used farm roads that were barely walkable. Before Ertsma village there were beehives places right on the trail by some locals. Additionally it seemed that bushes will start to cover the whole trail up very soon.
I think having a village with a store halfway through the day is the better option and the roads and most likely of higher quality too. I spent a lot of energy walking some farm roads that were freshly dug up and partially muddy.
Still, once I reached Pärnu-Jaagupi and the local church office told me that I can go explore inside the church, I went right for the belltower. It did not provide an amazing view, but was a fun experience nevertheless. Only after climbing all the way down I felt how tired my feet had become.
I did not do any proper breaks all day since it was close to freezing and very windy. I packed lighter clothes this weekend, because tomorrow will be already a mildly warm Spring day.
Here in Pärnu-Jaagupi they have a building just for hosting pilgrims. It works based on donations. They had 46 visitors last year and this year I am the 4th.
I had originally planned to keep walking a bit further, but the last bus is doing the final round quite soon.
