Camino Frances day 28: Santiago de Compostela to Negreira (21km)

Today was a very short walking day, but the scenery was amazing, as you can see from the picture of Ponte Maceira.

I walked very little today. Since yesterday my real walking distance was 42,1km and that was already pushing my body. I need today to recover and push over thirty again over the next two days. I will do a post about various ways to look at my travel distances later when I do my final thoughts reflection post on Thursday.

My legs got tired so easily today. Already 4km felt like a big distance. I was hoping to cut some carbs from the menu, but it seems too soon still. I have to switch to a normal diet again at some point. Hopefully, the transition will go smoothly. Can’t eat like an elephant every evening after Camino.

Anywho, now in the evening I feel strong again. I need to make tomorrow as long as possible, because then I can have a rest day later. Or I will go slower and do shorter distances each day and sacrifice that rest day.

I signed up to be a volunteer for the SEB running marathon on Sunday in Tallinn. The plan was to hand drinks to thirsty runners, but today I received an email that I’m registered in the starting lineup for the half marathon. Didn’t see this one coming.

I have no idea how to prepare from hiking to running with no time to train. I have done some speedwalking here, but not that much of actual running. I know my stamina is good, but not sure about bones and muscles. Not going to run my record this Sunday for sure…
